Any group can contact the refuge at least 2 weeks prior to the date to arrange a Ranger led program.  Once a month is the “Refuge Discovery Series” which includes educational programs led by the ranger or arranged speakers.  This series is sponsored by the Friends of Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge.

The refuge strives to provide high quality field trips and environmental education programs to the public free of charge. The Friends of Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge provides a bus grant to help offset bus transportation costs to the refuge. The refuge visitor center has an environmental education classroom, exhibit hall and auditorium for use in environmental education programs and field trips.  Also adjacent to the visitor center are trails, pollinator garden, and several habitat types that provide the perfect outdoor classroom opportunity.
