The large concentrations of birds and abundant wildlife provide excellent opportunities for wildlife photography. In addition, the scenic lakes, forests, and marshes provide many opportunities for stunning landscape photography. There is a photography blind on Lake Mattamuskeet, located north of the boat launch on Central (Outfall) Canal. In addition, observation decks on the wildlife drive and off of the Highway 94 causeway over Lake Mattamuskeet provide additional sites for photography, especially of the iconic baldcypresses growing in Lake Mattamuskeet.
