New Panels for Visitors

Written By

Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery has been continuing to work extra hard connecting people with nature throughout COVID-19 via social media and other technical based methods.  The week of August 9-13, 2021, staff refurbished the visitor information kiosk which is safely and conveniently located outside in the hatchery parking lot area. The updated kiosk contains new display panels with photos and information about topics such as the historical and current day hatchery operations, life cycle of a trout, threatened and endangered species, bog turtles, swamp pink plant, stocking, fishing and hunting. A case for displaying fishing rodeo and other event flyers as well as rack cards, pamphlets and fishing regulations are also available for visitors. The kiosk serves as an added tool for helping introduce visitors to the station prior to a walk-through tour of the outdoor raceway viewing area and trout fishing in Rock Creek which runs through the hatchery grounds.
