Refuges provide unique and exciting locations as outdoor classrooms for hands-on learning opportunities. Staff and volunteers from the Refuge and Friends of Willapa National Wildlife Refuge offer an educational program for 4th grade students in Pacific County each year.
Other grade levels, colleges and universities, as well as community groups such as scouts and after school programs, are welcome to use the refuge as an outdoor classroom! Materials may be available upon request. Email us at willapa@fws.gov to find out more!
Jr. Refuge Ranger Book
Download our Jr. Ranger book for a self-guided walk and engaging activities. The book can be used on any trail at Willapa NWR. Ideal for ages 6-10, but all ages are encouraged to use the book. Visit us at the office to pick-up your badge!
