There are several ways to get in touch--
By email- keydeer@fws.gov. Use this address for general inquiries or to schedule appointments with managers and staff at the Administration Building.
By phone- Nature Center 305-872-0774, staffed during business hours, or stop in when we are open.
For Key deer or wildlife issues- Call: 888-404-FWCC (3922) ext 1. We partner with Florida FWC and use their wildlife hotline number to dispatch either federal or state wildlife officers to a wildlife emergency.
Key Deer
Key deer are unique to the lower Florida Keys. They are perfectly adapted to living in the wild, they may, however, approach people and vehicles looking for handouts; please help us keep them healthy and wild by not feeding them. Also, please drive cautiously in Key Deer country (Big Pine Key west to Lower Sugarloaf Keys). Please call Florida FWC Wildlife Hotline Dispatch to report a dead or seriously injured key deer at 888-404-FWCC (3922), option 1.
