Internships are a great way to experience what it is like to work on public lands and make a contribution to natural resource conservation.

Volunteering

Volunteer

We love our volunteers! Without their generous help, much of what we do at Monomoy, both in the Visitor Center and in the field, would not be possible. We depend on our dedicated volunteers for our daily operations.

Volunteers are responsible for public outreach and maintenance at the visitor center; informing visitors about Monomoy, directing them to our self-guided walk, and answering any questions they may have about the refuge, displays in the center, or Chatham in general. Friends of Monomoy volunteers may also make sales in the bookstore and answer phone calls.

During the spring and summer, we also occasionally host beach clean-ups, wildlife census days and other opportunities to get out in the field on our wilderness islands. Keep your eyes open for announcements on our Facebook page!

Our typical volunteer involvement includes either a 10:00am-1:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm shift at the visitor center. Volunteers can come in as often as they’d like, the more the better! If interested, please review the forms linked below and contact us at:
