Swan River Archery Hunt EA

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposes to allow archery only big game hunting opportunity for black bear, elk, mule deer, and white-tailed deer at Swan River NWR and would like your feedback to help finalize the proposal. If you would like to comment, please download the attached EA and submit your written comments to: Refuge Manager Benton Lake NWR Complex 922 Bootlegger Trail Great Falls, MT 59404 This posting will be available for 30 days and a hard copy will be available for review at both the Benton Lake NWR Complex office in Great Falls and the Swan Valley Connections office in Condon, Montana.

Getting There

The road to the refuge.

To get to the Refuge, follow Highway 87 (Havre Highway) north out of Great Falls for about a mile and turn left onto Bootlegger Trail. Go about 9 miles to the well-marked Refuge entrance on the left.

Visitor Center Hours

The Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center

The visitor center is open from 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday. The center is closed on weekends and Federal Holidays.
