Ecological Risk Screening Summary - Zagros Tooth-carp (Aphanius vladykovi) - Uncertain Risk

Species that are considered uncertain risk need a more in-depth assessment beyond the Risk Summary to better define the species’ risk to U.S. environments.

Aphanius vladykovi has a small native range in the vicinity of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. A. vladykovi has not been documented outside of its native range, although it may appear in the aquarium trade. Without being able to observe introductions of A. vladykovi outside of its native range it is impossible to know the potential impacts of the species if introduced to the U.S. Climate match to the contiguous U.S. was medium. The overall risk posed by this species is uncertain.
