Interested in learning more about the Owls of the Willamette Valley?
Join the Friends of the Willamette Valley National Wildlife Refuge Complex on Saturday, October 4th, from 10:00am to 11:30am at the Ankeny Hill Nature Center (130 Ankeny Hill Road SE, Jefferson, OR 97352) at Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge. Parking is available at the upper parking lot of Gehlar Hall off Ankeny Hill Road or at the Peregrine Marsh parking lot off Buena Vista Road.
Join us to learn from ecologist, Leila Duchac about the ecology, habitats, behaviors, and vocalizations of owls in the Willamette Valley, as well as what we know about the effects of wildlife on owls.
About the presenter: Leila Duchac is an ecologist for the Fire Effects Information System (FEIS) at the US Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station Fire Lab in Missoula, Montana. Based in Corvallis, Leila has a master's degree in Wildlife Science from Oregon State University. Prior to working for FEIS, Leila was a researcher with the US Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research Station where she monitored Northern Spotted Owl populations using non-invasive methods and evaluate how forest owls use recently burned landscapes.
