Interested in learning more about Fall migration and observing migratory birds in their natural habitat?
Join Refuge staff and Salem Audubon Society for a morning bird outing around Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge in honor of the Fall World Migratory Bird Day event at the Ankeny Hill Nature Center.
This event will take place outdoors so dress accordingly, bring water, and binoculars. Additional binoculars and field guides will be available as well.
We will meet at the upper parking lot of the Ankeny Hill Nature Center. Restrooms and water bottle filling station are accessible from parking lot and are the only available restrooms on the Refuge.
Trails and viewpoints around the Refuge are gravel, wooden boardwalks, or dirt.
No birding experience required!
No registration needed!
Time: (8:00am - 9:30am) Feel free to stay the entire time or part of the excursion!
