Target Audience:  

VS Staff, Staff who are involved in Visitor Services Planning.  

Summary and Objectives:  

The Visitor Use Experience Approach is a systematic planning process for determining what visitor experiences will get you the most interpretive bang for the buck, and then determining the information you need to offer-orientation, wayfinding, and interpretation-in the right locations to facilitate those experiences. The result is a plan for an entire linked information network, extending beyond your boundaries, that starts connecting with visitors before they leave their home. 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:  

  • Develop a plan to connect with Non-traditional audience(s). 
  • Assess ways to improve your Visitor Services program. 
  • Design effective media to reach visitors.
  • Connect audiences to your site's stories.
