COURSE SESSION

Target Audience: 

New supervisors in their 12-month probationary period.

Summary and Objectives: 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explore best practices for conducting effective performance appraisals.
  • Create work environments that welcome diverse and differing voices and experiences.
  • Practice new techniques for managing conflict.
  • Utilize new frameworks for fostering employee engagement.
  • Develop techniques for creating, managing, and leading your team.
  • Develop more robust interpersonal skills.
  • Gain a network of peers to help support you in your life as a supervisor.


This training guides new supervisors through the competencies specified by OPM's Federal Supervisory Training Framework. More specifically, this training will cover:
