Facility Rules and Policies
To help protect wildlife and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone, please follow these rules while visiting Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge:
- Pets: Dogs are welcome on most trails but must be on a leash no longer than six feet. Please clean up after your pet.
- Hunting: Hunting is not allowed.
- Drones: Launching, landing, or disturbing wildlife with aircraft (including drones) is prohibited under federal regulations (50 CFR 27.34/27.51).
- Collecting: Do not disturb or collect plants, animals, shells, rocks, or other natural features.
- Alcohol and Drugs: Not allowed on the refuge.
- Camping and Fires: Camping, open fires, and fireworks are prohibited.
- Noise: The refuge is a quiet place to enjoy nature. Please leave fireworks, loud radios, and other sound equipment at home.
- Fishing: Fishing, clamming, and shrimping are allowed only from the beach area.
