The Gulf Coast Jaguarundi Recovery Plan

The Gulf Coast jaguarundi (Puma yagouaroundi cacomitli) is listed throughout its range, which is limited to southern Texas in the United States and eastern Mexico as far south as Veracruz. The United States contains only a small portion of the Gulf Coast jaguarundi’s range and habitat. Recovery of endangered species is the fundamental goal; however, the FWS has limited resources to address the major threats (habitat destruction and fragmentation) to the Gulf Coast jaguarundi outside the U.S.
