2023 Spring Turkey Quota Hunt at Florida Panther NWR

Hunters must have a valid Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge Spring Turkey Quota Hunt Permit issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC Limited Entry Hunt Information). The quota hunt permit is a limited entry quota permit, and is non transferable. FWC permitted hunters must also have in their possession a signed copy of the Florida Panther NWR Turkey Hunt Brochure, which is only available to FWC permitted hunters. Each permit is issued for the take of 1 bearded turkey.



We allow bows, crossbows, PCP air guns propelling a bolt or arrow, and shotguns using #2 or smaller shot size.



We only allow permitted hunters participating in the 2023 Spring Turkey Quota Hunt to operate ORVs (swamp buggies, ATV and UTV) on designated roads/trails/firebreaks (see map). Travel in, or use of, any motorized or other vehicles, is prohibited on Florida Panther NWR except on designated routes of travel, as indicated on attached map.

We prohibit the use of hunting dogs. Climbing spikes and permanent stands and hunt blinds are prohibited. Baiting or hunting over bait is prohibited.



One guest hunter is allowed to participate with each permitted hunter. The guest hunter must be named on the Florida Panther NWR Spring Turkey Hunting Permit that is carried with the permitted hunter. The guest hunter and permitted hunter must enter and exit the refuge together and must share an ORV while scouting or hunting on the refuge. The hunt party must share the bag.



Hunting regulations are designed to protect wildlife populations and the sportsman. Hunting is permitted in accordance with Federal regulations governing public use on National Wildlife Refuges as set forth in Title 50 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Hunters must also comply with State of Florida regulations. If there are questions concerning State regulations, hunters should consult with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or their officers. Hunters, their vehicles and equipment are subject to inspection by Service Law enforcement Officers.
