Big Oaks is a very scenic area and great landscape and wildlife photographs can be taken here. Early morning is the best time for wildlife photography and potential photographers are encouraged to allow themselves plenty of time to explore the photo opportunities. A photo blind is located on Old Timbers Lake on the Wolf Tree hiking trail. Photography tours can be arranged by calling the refuge office.
