City of Albuquerque Designated as 20th Urban Bird Treaty City

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced that Albuquerque, New Mexico has been designated as an Urban Bird Treaty City. This noble distinction is part of the Service’s Urban Conservation Treaty for Migratory Birds, often referred to as the Urban Bird Treaty. Albuquerque will receive $100,000 to enhance bird habitat, engage citizens in conservation, foster environmental education and manage harmful invasive species invasive species
An invasive species is any plant or animal that has spread or been introduced into a new area where they are, or could, cause harm to the environment, economy, or human, animal, or plant health. Their unwelcome presence can destroy ecosystems and cost millions of dollars.
