Apple Blossom Wind Eagle Take Permit Application NEPA Analysis, Michigan, 2021

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) has posted a draft environmental assessment and associated supporting documents for a request on an incidental take permit for bald eagles at the Apple Blossom Wind Facilities. The applicant, AEP Renewables, LLC is requesting a 30-year permit under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.  Take is requested for bald eagles at its 29-turbine facility in Windsor Township in Huron County, Michigan.

The 30-day public comment ran from September 22 through October 22, 2021 and is now closed. We received no comments from the public, other government entities, or tribal nations.  The Final EA and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) were written in late 2021 and the permit was issued to Apple Blossom Wind on January 6, 2022.  The Final EA and FONSI are posted here.
