We are counting down to celebrating National Wildlife Refuge Week and the kick-off for Urban Wildlife Conservation Day. We have lots to celebrate! Join us and the Living Coast Discovery Center (LCDC) staff this Saturday outside of our main offices for San Diego Bay NWR (1080 Gunpowder Point Drive, Chula Vista) and the same location as the LCDC for a fun filled day.
From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm you can expect to see our park rangers leading a bird bingo game, searching for pond creatures like brittle stars, and answering all your questions about the refuge. Our partners from the LCDC will lead two animal encounters at 10:30 am and at 12:00 pm and they will also provide a guided hike at 11:15 am.
Don’t miss out! Although these outdoor activities are free, there is a fee to enter the Living Coast Discovery Center.
As a reminder, you cannot drive into the refuge. Make sure to hop on a free shuttle from the Living Coast Discovery Center located on the corner of Bay Blvd. and E Street.
