American Wetlands Month Celebration and Walk

May is American Wetlands Month! And our refuges are all about wetlands! At Grays Harbor NWR, a tidal mudflat supports tens of thousands of migrating shorebirds. The Black River Unit protects rare-in-the-state bog as well as seasonal wetlands, home to the state-endangered, federally-threatened Oregon spotted frog. And Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually NWR boasts seasonal and permanent wetlands, tidally flooded riparian riparian

Come explore Nisqually's diversity of wetland habitats with us! Refreshments will be served in the Education Center, and an assortment of live local macroinvertebrates will be on display under microscopes. Guided walks to view the wetlands and its assorted wildlife will leave from the Education Center (binoculars are provided if you don't have your own). Parking is free for attendees.
