FWS Heavy Equipment Online Safety Training

COURSE SESSION

Target Audience: 

Operators of Service heavy equipment including: Service employees, volunteers, and partner organizations operators identified in a Memorandum of Understanding MOU.

Summary and Objectives:

This 3-hour class course provides the fundamentals of safe heavy equipment operation for operators of Service heavy equipment as defined in 321 FW 1. Successful completion is required prior to attending the FWS instructor-led safety training courses. This course also serves as the Heavy Equipment Refresher training required every three years.
Heavy Equipment Safety Training is required for FWS employees or volunteers operating machinery, regardless of ownership of equipment. Official contractors providing and operating their own equipment are exempt from this rule.

The goal of this course is to provide individuals with the fundamentals to operate heavy equipment in a safe and proper manner, reducing the potential for serious injuries and deaths prior to attending the FWS instructor-led safety training course.
