Enjoy the refuge from the comfort of your car! The 7 mile route departs from the Visitor Center entrance road. The red line on the trail map indicates the Wildlife Drive route with some seasonal options. Gates open at sunrise and close one hour prior to sunset.
The Wildlife Drive is only open on specified dates which are weather dependent. If the Wildlife Drive is scheduled and you are traveling from a distance, please call to confirm that it is open before you come. 419-898-0014. High wind, flooding, and winter weather can impede travel on the drive.
The wildlife drive dates for 2026 are as follows:
- March 1, 21-22
- April 25-26
- May1-25, 30-31
- June-August; Every Saturday and Sunday (Bonus dates, June 19 and July 3)
- September 5-7, 12-13
