A group of people hiking through the forest at Salt Meadow.

Take your pick of refreshing trails and beach paths at refuge units from Westbrook to Greenwich. If you want to walk through some of the oldest maritime forest left in Connecticut, come to Salt Meadow. If a beach path is more your style, visit our unit on Milford Point. Some trails include observation platforms with wonderful views, and other areas have interpretive panels on nature and local history. Visit the LOCATIONS section of our website for unit-specific information.

Visitors must remain on established trails, at viewing platforms and other open areas of the refuge. Going off trail into forest, marsh or other habitats is prohibited.
