Flint Hills has much more to offer than migratory birds.  With the diverse habitats mammals can be seen all over Refuge lands.  White-tailed deer, bobcats, coyotes, beaver, and even the occasional river otter can be seen on Refuge lands on any given day.

Flint Hills has an abundant reptile, turtle, and amphibian population with the diverse habitat to offer.  A variety of snakes, turtles, and amphibians can been seen everyday in the summer enjoying the warmer weather.  Snakes can be seen sunning them selves on gravel roads, and turtles can be seen in water ways hanging out on logs.
