Abernathy Creek provides spawning and rearing habitat for migrating chum, coho and Chinook Salmon; steelhead, cutthroat and rainbow trout; and other lesser-known species. Bank fishing at the Abernathy Fish Technology Center’s Bergstrom Tract, 12 acres of land along Abernathy Creek upstream from the center, provides angling opportunities for most of these species. Fishing is best in spring and fall. Anglers must possess a valid state of Washington fishing license and comply with state’s fishing regulations.
