Fishing is not allowed at the Abernathy Fish Technology Center. However, the center owns a 12-acre tract of land where fishing is allowed. This tract of land is approximately 3.5 miles up Abernathy Creek Road from the juncture of the road and State Route 4, or just 9/10ths of a mile up from the Center's main facility. It is marked and located on the right hand side of the road with a graveled parking for two cars and a turnaround. Bank fishing access is allowed along both banks of the creek. Anglers may fish for Chinook salmon, Coho salmon, Steelhead trout, Rainbow trout, Cutthroat trout, and other cool water fish in accordance with Washington Department Fish and Wildlife regulations. A current Washington fishing license is required. This tract of land is accessible 24 hours a day. Pets are welcome, but must be under control at all times. Camping, overnight use, and fires are prohibited.
