Wildlife Drive Re-opening for 2019

July 15th - Sept. 30th
Reflection by Jeff Novess Join the thousands that will enter the gates of the Wildlife Drive this season.

Built in 2010, the 6.5-mile, self-guided, one-way auto route meanders past forests, grasslands, marshes, open water pools, and the Shiawassee River. At 15 mph, you will drive through the core of the refuge and witness the management practices used to attract large concentrations of birds and other wildlife. Utilize the observation platforms and parking areas for an even greater chance to experience wildlife observations.  Open July 15th – September 30th from sunrise to 1 hour before sunset. Visit our website for updates and closures. Free.

Limited Schedule in Effect:

To continue the progress of this much needed work the Wildlife Drive will be closed Tuesdays through Thursdays during the upcoming weeks of the season (until further notice).

Limited schedule means the Wildlife Drive will be open Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until further notice. Flaggers will be in construction areas there to help facilitate traffic (primarily during weekdays).
