About Us

Since 1934, sales from Federal Duck Stamps have raised more than $1.3 billion to conserve more than 6 million acres of wetlands habitat. That makes the Federal Duck Stamp one of the most successful conservation revenue programs in history! Over 98% of the money raised from the sale of Duck Stamps goes directly to help acquire wetlands and conservation easements for the National Wildlife Refuge System. These wetlands and easements benefit a countless number of species and are important for people too. Wetlands acquired with Duck Stamp dollars help purify water, aid in flood control, reduce soil erosion, and provide outdoor recreational opportunities. The National Wildlife Refuge System has at least one refuge in every state and territory, providing many opportunities for people to enjoy these outdoor spaces.
