Wetland Resources: Vermont

Recent estimates of the area covered by wetlands in Vermont range from 4 to 6 percent of the state's total area. Many of the state's wetlands are small; about 80 percent are less than 10 acres. The largest wetlands are in the broad valleys of northeastern Vermont and in the flood plains and deltas of rivers that discharge into Lake Champlain.
