The picture shows Melissa standing in one of the many aisles of the Entomological Collection at ETH Zurich (EEC). She studies how diet shapes butterflies’ distribution, morphology and behaviour, especially butterflies that feed on poisonous plants. Here she holds a drawer of butterflies of the genus Luthrodes, some of which feed on toxic plants that have been shown to cause neurodegenerative diseases when consumed by humans.
