Pleasant Valley/Grand Meadow Wind Facility Eagle Take Permit Application, Dodge and Mower County, MN

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) posted a draft environmental assessment for a request on an incidental take permit for bald eagles at the Pleasant Valley/Grand Meadow Wind Facilities. The applicant, Northern States Power (doing business as Xcel Energy), is requesting a 5-year permit under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act for take of bald eagles at its 2 adjacent 167-turbine facilities near Austin in southeastern Minnesota. The public comment period was open from December 13, 2019 to January 13, 2020. After review and incorporation of public comments the take permit was issued to the applicant on April 8, 2020.
