A long-billed curlew displays its magnificent bill while it stands in the grass at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. Long-billed curlews are a common site on the Refuge, particularly from May through July and prefer areas of short grass after being grazed. Photo by James "Newt" Perdue/USFWS Volunteer.
