Employee displays banded Hawai‘i creeper

Biologists carefully weigh and measure each bird before banding. Hawai‘i creepers call softly to one another while flitting from tree to tree. Creeping up and down koa and ‘ōhi‘a tree trunks and along the underside of larger branches, they feed on insects living under the loose bark.
