This beautiful Elk will be monitored by a special frequency transmitted by the VHF collar around its neck. Data helps us understand migration patterns, mortality rates and habitat use. The USFWS has a long history of working with Native American governments in the management of fish and wildlife resources. Working together with indigenous cultures allows us to learn about the methods historically used by Tribes in the management of fish, wildlife and their habitats.
