Governor John Hickenlooper joined with former Department of the Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe, Rep. Ed Perlmutter, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and other federal, state and local officials on Saturday June 4, 2016 in celebrating National Trails Day by opening a 7-mile stretch of trail that connects Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge in Arvada with the Westminster Hills Open Space. The morning of the opening ceremony, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service staff gave a tour of nearby Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge to Congressman Ed Perlmutter, who was treated to an especially cooperative elk herd seen here posing in front of the historic Lindsay Ranch.
