North Dakota Conservation and Consultation Guidance

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, North Dakota Field Office have developed general conservation recommendations to avoid impacts to species protected under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (16 U.S.C. 1531 et seq.) (ESA), as well as other trust wildlife resources. We encourage project proponents to contact us on specific project level effects as there is flexibility in how these measures may be applied. These general recommendations are not a substitute for consultation requirements under section 7 of the ESA.
