Youth Fishing Day

REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS AT FULL CAPACITY AND IS NOW CLOSED. Please call Kent County Parks and Recreation at 410-778-2083 if you have any questions.

Bring the kids out for fishing fun on Saturday, June 11, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm at Headquarters Pond on Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge. This free event for kids 15 and under is held in conjunction with Kent County Parks and Recreation and the Friends of Eastern Neck, and will take place rain or shine. Bait and fishing equipment will be provided, or bring your own. The number of loaner fishing rods is limited, so please bring your own if you have one. Lunch will be provided by the Friends of Eastern Neck, and Kent County Parks and Rec will be giving away a rod and reel to the first 50 registered participants.

Parents should note that this is a non-competitive, catch-and-release event, meant to introduce children to the fun of fishing.  All children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

Directions: From Rock Hall, take Rt. 445 south until you cross the bridge onto Eastern Neck NWR. Continue proceeding south, turn right at the dirt road to the Bayview Butterfly Trail, and follow the road until you reach Headquarters Pond.  Signs will be posted. For additional information, contact Kent County Parks and Rec at 410-778-2083 or visit their website.
