Walk for the Wild with Friends of Heinz Refuge

Join Friends of Heinz Refuge at 10 a.m. October 12 for a 6K or shorter hike on the 1,000 acre John Heinz Refuge. Participants will learn about the conservation and environmental education work that the Friends support, and also get an energizing snack! Location: Meet at the Pavilion Details: Take a walk with members of the Friends Board, Krista Graham and Carol Armstrong to learn about how the Refuge and the Friends have partnered over the past 25 years to bring nature to the public. Meet at the Pavilion next to the Refuge parking lots for a snack and walk the Wetland Loop Trail (3.7 miles, easy) or the Big Boardwalk Loop Trail (0.6 miles, easy). Signage at some points in the route will explain our work. Bring water and sun protection, and perhaps a drawing pad or camera.
