Trash Clean Up

Help the Featherstone NWR Staff clean up the refuge before the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (PHNST) gets constructed in! The PHNST is scheduled to be completed October 2025. This trash pick up will be done on an uncompleted trail. This means the ground might be very muddy/wet or vegetation will be in the way so bring sturdy boots. Depending on the weather the day before this area can be very difficult to walk through so come prepared. Supplies will be provided but are limited so feel free to bring your own. Parking will be located at the Rippon VRE Station. A shuttle will bring people to the top of the trail. You can also get dropped off at the end of Featherstone Road where it meets Marseille Ln. The trail is about a mile long so please make sure you can physically do this. There are no benches or stops along the way. Bathrooms are also not available. This event is weather permitting.
