Iron River National Fish Hatchery Youth Turkey Hunt

April 15-16, 2023

12-15 Years Old

MUST HAVE VALID HUNTER EDUCATION CERTIFICATION

APPLICATIONS DUE: April 6, 2023

One qualifying applicant, with valid Zone 6 Spring Turkey harvest authorization, will be selected through a random drawing.

Both resident and non-resident youth hunters are eligible to apply.

Selection guarantees a ground blind & two hunting chairs located on Iron River National Fish Hatchery property.

All Wisconsin Spring Turkey Hunting Regulations will be followed.

• Youth Provides:

• Hunter Safety Card & Hunting License

• Shotgun—12 or 20 gauge

• Hunting Ammunition—#4 - #6

• Proper Hunting Apparel

• Lunch/Snacks/Beverage

• Tagging & Harvesting Gear

• Hatchery Provides:

• Flagged Hunting Location

• Ground Blind

• Seats

• Decoys

• Person to scout/guide/call

• Calls

• Selected applicants will be notified by April 7th.

• Mentor and Guardian will schedule a time to discuss shotgun patterning and safety details.

• If weather deters youth, option to hunt on selected season date can be exercised.

Please note: Youth will be paired with a guide to hunt on the hatchery grounds. Hatchery equipment will remain on hatchery property at all times.

There is no guarantee a turkey will be harvested during this event.
