Go mothing with Invasive Species Manager, Trevor Zook, in the South Woods, located behind the Visitor Center. You may be wondering, what is mothing exactly? Mothing is when you hang a sheet, usually white or light colored, outside on a humid, windless night and shine lights on the sheet to attract nocturnal moths and other cool bugs. They land on the sheet, which gives you an up close look at their intricate patterns and unique shapes and colors!
Registration is required for this program. Call 419-898-0014 to register starting August 22nd.
This moth night is part of our Migration Celebration, a month-long celebration of the fall migration of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and more. By joining this moth night, you will “migrate” 0.6 miles to get to the site and back.
