Join our Christmas Bird Count on January 3, 2026 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is the largest, annual, free, citizen science and bird count event with the National Audubon Society. Started in 1900, Christmas Bird Counts are conducted across more than 20 countries from December 14-January 5 to learn more about bird populations. Anyone interested in birds and learning more about the refuge is welcome! Must RSVP to Glen Hensley at glen_hensley@fws.gov.
FREE. Be prepared to drive your personal vehicle all day and be outside. Bring: sunscreen, layers, binoculars, and lunch. Meet 7 a.m. on January 3, 2026 at the visitor center. The address is 71189 Harper Road, Jet, Oklahoma, 73749. You can help for only a part of the time.
