On March 14, 1903, President Teddy Roosevelt established Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, the very first of what has now grown into a network of over 570 refuges across the country.
At St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, we are proud to be part of this system and committed to preserving it for generations to come. We invite you to visit, explore, and discover the natural beauty of our refuge.
