CANCELLED - Moth Night

This event has been cancelled due to weather.

Join Ottawa NWR and Oak Harbor Public Library as we celebrate National Insect Week, which takes place June 23-29 this year!
As part of our celebration, you can go mothing with Ottawa NWR's Invasive Species Manager, Trevor Zook, at the Marinewood Unit. You may be wondering, what is mothing exactly? Mothing is when you hang a sheet, usually white or light colored, outside and shine lights on the sheet to attract nocturnal moths and other cool insects. They land on the sheet, which gives you an up close look at their intricate patterns and unique shapes and colors! The Marinewood Unit is located at 41.517262235729966, -83.0241225245771 (off of Route 163). The event will begin at 9:45pm, and you can stay as long or as short as you'd like! The rain date for this event is the following day, Friday, June 27th at 9:45pm. Event updates will be posted on Facebook.
