Volunteer Position Overview
About This Position
Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge spans over 37,000 acres in South Carolina's lowcountry. It is a 20-30 minute drive from Myrtle Beach and some of the most beautiful beaches along the eastern coast and is surrounded by beautiful blackwater rivers and streams. Volunteers are needed to staff the 300-acre Cox Ferry Lake Recreation Area in Conway, SC. The recreation area has hiking trails, boardwalks, fishing piers, and picnic areas. Volunteers are responsible for general upkeep and maintenance, grass mowing with riding mower & groundskeeping, stocking brochures, and assisting visitors with refuge rules and regulations. There are no bathrooms to clean! We ask for 24 hours per week per person in exchange for full RV hookups (water, sewer, 20/30/50 amp power). We also ask for at least a 3-month commitment.
