The refuge is hosting a small lot sale beginning May 6, 2024. The sale consists of approximately 300 yards of mixed gravel and crushed asphalt from a former building foundation demolished in 2023. The minimum amount that can be bid on is 100 yards. The winner of the bid will be issued a Special Use Permit (SUP) and will be responsible for loading and transporting all materials. Materials are located at the Jolly Jack tract of the refuge. Refuge personnel will make all road improvements to the material prior to May 6th.

An appointment for inspection on May 6 is required. The Refuge will accept SEALED bids at the refuge office until 4 pm on May 16, 2024. Bids will be opened by 4 pm on May 17, 2024 and high bidder will be notified. High bidder must remove items from sale site on or before June 14th. The winning bidder will be issued a Special Use Permit to access the refuge and remove the rock. Payment must be made by cashier’s check or money order at the time the SUP is issued. Removal arrangements must be made with the refuge manager. Please contact refuge headquarters for bid forms. The bid forms are also available digitally.
