Juvenile American Mink

A young mink (Mustela vison) hunts for food on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. Mink are also found on Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Mink can be aggressive and territorial. They are good swimmers and climbers. They feed on small reptiles, birds, fish, reptiles, insects, rabbits, amphibians, mice, snakes, and crustaceans.
