Narrowleaf Evening Primrose

Narrowleaf Evening Primrose (Oenothera fruticosa) is a native wildflower that is blooming on Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. The plant grows to a height of 2 feet tall and has leaves that are 2 to 3 inches long. The flowers are yellow and 2 inches in diameter. Bees and butterflies forage on the flowers. Songbirds eat the seeds.
