Getting the Blues on the Refuge is Great!

When you take time to explore Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, you might see a blue grosbeak (Passerina caerulera) (top photo) or a blue Indigo bunting (Passerina cyanea) (bottom photo). Of course you might also see a blue jay or a great blue heron or even an Eastern bluebird, several of the blue colored birds that live or visit the refuge. Beautiful blue birds can pick up your spirit instead of getting you down. Don't just sing the blues, get outside and catch sight of some gorgeous blue birds!
