Canada Goslings

On Pea island National Wildlife Refuge you may see the newest residents, Canada goslings (Branta canadensis). Most of the Canada geese that are seen on the refuge throughout the winter months are migrating and have already migrated out. But over the years a few pairs have stayed on refuge all year. Most Canada goose pairs stay together for life. The goslings may stay with the parents for their entire first year. Canada geese are the classic v-flying formation, loud honking birds that come to mind when you think of geese.
